TRAVEL EXP - Urology Exp Outpatient Clinic RN - R10266

Job Details:

• Outpatient urology clinic setting with no floating between units required
• No on-call, no weekends, and no holidays required
• Block scheduling type
• Patient ratio of 1 nurse to 6-8 patients with a daily census of 16 and approximately 8 visits per day
• Travel experience required; seasoned traveler preferred
• Urology background required; ER, pre/post-op, day surgery/ambulatory, or home health experience a plus
• Must have outpatient clinic experience and recent experience with catheters in a fast-paced environment
• Catheter exchanges are the majority of the job and must have performed this consistently within the last 6 months
• Will accept candidates with Med/Surg experience provided they have catheter exchange experience
• Expected to train for telephone triage if extending contract
• Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
• Patient diagnoses include urine retention, kidney stones, chronic catheterization, bladder cancer, erectile dysfunction, BPH, hematuria, and urinary tract infections
• Responsible for intravesicular BCG mixing and administration, trial of void, trial of passage, catheter exchange (hard stop), suprapubic catheter exchange, and self-catheterization instruction
• Key skills include Foley catheter insertion and management, urine dipstick/urinalysis, sterile procedure tray setup, telephone triage, specimen labeling, patient teaching, and pharmacy/refill coordination
• Interdisciplinary support available including interpretation services, phlebotomy, and unit secretary
• Epic charting system experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Required certification: BLS
• Valid Washington or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Community hospital experience preferred
