RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with rotating start times between 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 12:00 PM - Midnight, and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Day/Evening shifts with start times anywhere between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM
• Flexibility to work all shifts is required, including rotating between days and nights
• Every other weekend requirement or as needed to meet unit needs
• Holiday rotation with core staff - most likely will work some holidays
• No on-call or standby requirement
• 24-bed emergency department treating 60-80 patients per 24 hours
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5, adjusted based on staffing and acuity
• 3+ years of ER experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Provide emergency care for a wide range of patients including neonates to geriatrics
• Common diagnoses include respiratory viruses, MI, MVA, and other community emergency cases
• Must be comfortable with moderate sedation and lumbar puncture procedures
• Administer and manage all critical care drips
• Required to read and interpret patient monitor data independently
• May be required to float to Med/Surg, Telemetry, or ICU as needed
• 2 12-hour shifts of orientation provided
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Illinois nursing license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNS or TNCC, NIHSS
• Professional solid-color scrubs required
• BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care community hospital emergency department operates as a STEMI and Stroke-ready facility with a 24-bed emergency department. The facility provides comprehensive emergency services including access to a catheterization lab depending on day and hours, behavioral health safe rooms, and 24/7 in-house security. The department is supported by a house supervisor available around the clock, charge nurses, ED technicians, respiratory therapy, and patient care liaisons to ensure high-quality patient care.
