Opportunity:

MRI Technologist

Job Details:

• Work Tuesday through Friday from 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Generally scheduled for four 10-hour shifts
• Shift start times range between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM
• Weekend shifts only required if hired for a weekend shift
• No on-call or standby requirement, but may volunteer if short staffed
• Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
• Perform musculoskeletal imaging, basic neuro, abdominal/pelvis, radiation oncology, and breast imaging studies
• See pacer and anesthesia patients as well as ICU and NICU patients
• Average 30 scans per day due to long protocols
• High volume of inpatients (10-14 per day) and outpatients (4-8 per day) on weekends
• Start IVs as required
• Work with Siemens equipment and upcoming Philips scanner
• Use PACS (McKesson or Change Healthcare) and Meditech charting system
• Full-time supervisor on site with senior tech scheduled when lead tech is unavailable
• 1-2 weeks of department-specific orientation provided
• Must wear black scrubs with black or gray jacket (no fleece) and black or gray undershirt
• 1 year of MRI experience required
• Experience with Siemens required; Philips experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred; Level II trauma experience is a strong plus
• Must reside within a strict 75-mile radius from facility
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), Certified MRI Technologist - ARRT (MR)

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a robust radiology department with four MRI scanners, two of which are staffed by agency travelers, as well as a mobile unit. The department runs at a high volume similar to a Level I trauma center and is supported by in-house radiologists during daytime hours for interventional radiology, with the majority of MRI readers working remotely. The facility utilizes Meditech for charting and McKesson or Change Healthcare for PACS, and maintains a strong focus on a wide range of advanced imaging services.
