Opportunity:
PT - Physical Therapist
Job Details:
• Evaluate and assess patients' abilities and limitations with neurological, burn/wound, musculoskeletal, or other acute or chronic physical disabilities
• Establish individualized treatment plans and goals based on evaluation of functional skills, joint mobility, gait, developmental reflexes, muscle strength, tone, coordination, and sensation tests
• Implement therapy according to established plans utilizing appropriate procedures, equipment, and techniques within the scope of physical therapy
• Educate patients and caregivers on evaluation findings, therapy goals, treatment plans, home programs, and injury prevention
• Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of physical therapy modalities
• Recommend adaptive equipment, complete equipment justification forms, and arrange for equipment delivery
• Re-evaluate patients, assess progress, and make discharge recommendations
• Consult and co-treat with other patient care team members to discuss progress and integrate treatment plans
• Evaluate home or work environments and make physical barrier modification or ergonomic recommendations
• Supervise patient care activities of aides, assistants, attendants, students, and volunteers
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient care
• Ability to work with all age groups of patients with appropriate knowledge to adjust evaluation and treatment accordingly
• Must be licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of Iowa
• Must be a graduate of an APTA accredited college or university with a certificate, master's degree, or doctorate in physical therapy
• Current BCLS certification required
• Basic computer skills required
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with strong written and verbal skills
• Physical requirements include standing 7-8 hours per workday, walking 6-7 hours per workday, frequent bending/stooping, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level
• Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs and assist with lifting awkward weights up to 100+ lbs as needed
