Opportunity:
RN - Telemetry
Job Details:
• Work 3x12 night shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• Schedule varies based on department needs and can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during schedule period
• May float to Intensive Care Units for telemetry/medically appropriate assignments, medical surgical units, and other departments up to competency level
• Care for patient population including CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMIs, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, and post-procedure patients including pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and open heart surgery patients downgraded from ICU
• Administer non-titratable cardiac medication drips including Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitro
• Provide comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients including their families and caregivers
• Perform patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across the nursing process
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam including identifying and measuring rhythm strips - failure results in contract termination
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Nevada RN license required prior to start
Facility:
This facility is an extremely busy and fast-paced Level II Trauma Center serving a 500-mile radius with 800 inpatient beds and Stroke accreditation. The volume and pace are comparable to that of a Level I trauma center, treating over 80,000 emergency and trauma patients annually. The facility is home to the region's only children's hospital, a leading robotic surgery institute, groundbreaking brain and nerve care, and comprehensive heart and cancer services. The facility operates two emergency rooms and features state-of-the-art technologies including the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, dedicated PET/CT scanner, Biplane Angiography, and the newest 3T MRI technologies.
