Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg Peds

Job Details:

• Day/night rotation with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekends required as needed
• No holiday requirement
• First to float to ED/ICU for 1:1 assignments as needed
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience to be considered
• Must have experience with both adult and pediatric patients
• Self-scheduling available
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights
• Unit consists of 17 beds including 14 inpatient and 3 observation beds
• Common diagnoses include UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD
• Charge nurse is present on each shift and takes a patient assignment
• Nurse aides available: 2 on days and 1 on nights
• RNs are not required to titrate drips; common drips include electrolytes and hypertensive medications
• Occasional BiPAP managed primarily by respiratory therapy
• ICU monitors telemetry and reads strips; MSP nurses apply telemetry to patients
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Orientation consists of one 12-hour shift, with an additional day or night orientation if needed
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Facial hair policy: Clinicians with facial hair must pass a fit test; failure to pass or remove facial hair may result in contract cancellation

Facility:

This acute care facility operates as a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and includes a MedSurg Pediatrics unit with 17 beds serving both adult and pediatric populations. The unit is supported by ICU telemetry monitoring and respiratory therapy services, providing a collaborative care environment. The facility utilizes MEDITECH for electronic charting and emphasizes teamwork, communication, and strong clinical decision-making among its nursing staff.
