Opportunity:
RN - ICU/PCU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required as needed, typically every other weekend
• Holiday shifts required as needed
• First to float between ICU and PCU patients within the unit
• No on-call or standby requirement, with possibility for extra shifts
• Up to 4 shifts may be cancelled per 13-week assignment
• ICU nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2; PCU nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3
• CNA support available at a 1:8 ratio for tasks including vitals, foley care, bathing, IV pulls, bladder scans, and specimen collection
• Required to titrate drips including standard ICU drips, vasoactive, and sedative drips; PCU includes mild titrations with some pressors titrated within written parameters
• Must be comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Intensivist available 7 days a week primarily during days; eICU camera and screen available for nighttime support
• Hospitalist in house 24/7 and respiratory therapy in unit 24/7
• Charting system: EPIC - prior EPIC experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Must have Thermoguard/Zoll cooling experience with targeted temperature management (TTM)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• 2-day unit-specific orientation provided
• Block scheduling will be considered if it aligns with unit needs
Facility:
This acute care facility operates a combined ICU and PCU unit featuring 16 ICU beds and 14 PCU beds, providing a high level of care for a diverse patient population. The unit maintains a strong team culture with an emphasis on collaboration and engagement with travel staff. The facility is a Level 3 trauma center supported by on-site intensivist coverage, 24/7 hospitalist and respiratory therapy services, and telemetry monitoring support across the unit and sister sites.
