Opportunity:

RN - Trauma ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Self-scheduling managed by manager based on unit needs
• 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 in ICU and 1:4 in PCU
• 18-bed unit caring for adult and pediatric patients 15 years and older
• Common diagnoses include various trauma injuries, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, and cardiac arrest
• Experience with CVPs, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, and hemodynamic equipment required
• Required to titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac monitoring using Draeger heart monitoring system with centralized telemetry
• Charting completed in EPIC
• Floating required to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU
• 2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Pass/fail open book exam required during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90%
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Driver's license required at submittal
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• First-time travelers will not be accepted
• BSN not required

Facility:

This facility is the only Level 1 Trauma Center within its health system, serving a high volume of trauma patients through transfers and emergency department admissions. The unit operates as a fast-paced, critically ill patient environment with 18 beds and access to advanced monitoring and equipment including Zoll-Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol and Bell Mont rapid transfusion capabilities. The facility values nurses with strong critical thinking skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
