Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg ICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with day shift hours from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM and night shift hours from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Schedule is manager-directed based on unit needs
• Every other weekend requirement
• 2 out of 3 major holidays or every other holiday as needed based on unit needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1-2 in ICU, 1:4-5 in PCU, and 1:5-6 in Med Surg
• 2 minimum years of recent ICU experience required
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• 2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
• Pass/fail open book exam during orientation - must receive a 90% or higher to pass
• Care for adult and pediatric patients (15 years and older) with diagnoses including respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, GI bleeds, and cancer-specific surgeries
• Titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
• Work with equipment including CVPs, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, Zoll Thermoguard, and Bell Mont rapid transfuser
• Operate respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Read and interpret heart monitoring using Draeger system with centralized telemetry monitoring - no monitor techs on unit
• Float to all inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility - valid driver's license required at submittal
• Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
• Request time off must be submitted upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract) - additional RTO will not be approved

This Level 1 Trauma Center serves as the primary tertiary hospital for its health system, offering acute care services in a fast-paced environment. The 34-bed Med Surg ICU unit operates with a collaborative team approach, working alongside attending physicians and student providers including fellows and residents. The facility fosters a high-quality care environment and supports staff development with real-time training opportunities on advanced procedures and equipment.
