Opportunity:
RN - Charge - Med Surg
Job Details:
• Charge RN position working 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Charge nurse ideally does not take patients, but may take a patient assignment if staffing is short or census is less than 22
• Department operates under a dyad model with each nurse supported by their own CNA and a virtual nurse
• Nursing ratio is 1:6/7, CNA ratio is 1:6/7, and virtual nurse ratio is 1:30
• 42-bed Med/Surg unit serving medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients
• 1:6 ratio expected at least once per week
• No titratable drips except Heparin
• Telemetry available on the floor with a centralized telemetry station
• Respiratory therapy available 24 hours on the floor
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available at a 1:6/7 ratio
• Weekend and holiday requirements on an as-needed basis
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Floating may be required to PCU or Burn unit
• Scrub color required: Navy blue
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Orientation includes first week of classroom training followed by two 12-hour shifts on the floor
• Pass/fail open book exam during orientation requiring a minimum score of 90% to pass
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract)
