Opportunity:

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts rotating days and nights, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule is released in 6-week blocks with rotation between days and nights
• Every other weekend requirement with every other holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 based on acuity
• Treat patients across the lifespan from newborn to geriatric with diagnoses including respiratory, cardiac, trauma, and stroke cases
• Facility is a Level IV trauma and stroke-ready designated center with 10 beds and 2 trauma bays
• Average patient volume of 25-30 patients per day
• Competent triage skills required as a separate triage room is utilized
• Must be able to read own cardiac monitor strips using Philips telemonitor system
• Common drips include norepinephrine, nitroglycerin, heparin, amiodarone, and propofol
• RNs are responsible for assisting with patient transport including attending CT for all stroke activations
• Must be able to initiate RT equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow with verbal assistance from on-call RT when needed
• CNA/Tech available from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM to assist with vitals, room turnover, stocking, EKGs, swabs, and splinting
• Charting system: EPIC
• No charge nurse on shift - must be comfortable working independently
• De-escalation skills required as in-house security is not available
• No fast track available
• Up to 4 orientation shifts until competency is achieved
• Professional dress code required with no specific scrub color requirement
• Minimum 2 years of Critical Access ED experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and ENPC or PALS
• BSN not required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Facility:

This is an acute care Critical Access Hospital featuring a fully equipped emergency department with 10 beds and 2 trauma bays. The facility maintains Level IV trauma and stroke-ready designations and provides around-the-clock emergency care for patients across all stages of life. The department is staffed with one provider in-house 24/7 and offers respiratory therapy support during daytime hours with on-call coverage overnight.
