Opportunity:
MS/Onc RN
Job Details:
• 13-week travel assignment
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period; traveler may be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks
• Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend and is subject to staffing needs
• No on-call required
• May float to like units to meet facility needs; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
• Block scheduling is not available
• Patient ratios are 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
• Cares for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; experience with chemo administration preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Skills required include: Med/Surg, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Nasal Cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
• Charting system: Epic
• Required certification: BLS
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Parking is free
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Alaska RN license required; pending license accepted but must be in hand for offer

This acute care hospital is a Magnet-designated facility and a Level II Trauma Center, recognized as a U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital in Alaska. With 407 staffed beds and a robust interdisciplinary support team, the facility is committed to delivering high-quality patient care across a wide range of specialties. The oncology unit operates with 46 beds and a daily census of 46 patients, supported by comprehensive ancillary and clinical services.
