Opportunity:
RN - Cardiac Telemetry
Job Details:
• Work on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Must work full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Support staff includes Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians
• Document using Meditech electronic health record system
• Operate equipment including Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap monitors, Welch Allyn Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitors, EKG Machine, Bladder Scanner, Doppler, and Imobile communication system
• Must have Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience
• Must be able to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Must have experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op day 1 open heart surgery, and permanent pacemaker placements
• Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Perform procedures including IV insertions, nasogastric tube placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker management, and Foley insertions
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required dress code: Navy blue scrubs; black scrub pants may be worn with a navy blue top
• Must align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect, using preferred names, making personal connections, involving patients in bedside shift report, and ensuring patient needs are met before leaving the room
• Contract nurses may be floated to any area where competency has been demonstrated
