Opportunity:

RN - Multi Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with day shift hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and night shift hours of 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required - Friday and Saturday for night shift, Saturday and Sunday for day shift
• Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly
• First to float when low census occurs, with standby rotation required
• Float to EC MST and Pediatric unit to care for adult MST patients
• Float to West Campus in Prescott to care for ICU and PCU patients with two-hour notice prior to floating
• Multi Care Unit with all three acuities (ICU, PCU, MST) managed within one unit - no floating between units
• 10-bed unit with acuity-based ratios: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MST 1:5-6, or 1:3 primary care when no nurse aide is available
• Common diagnoses include sepsis, suicide attempt, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, respiratory arrest, pneumonia, DKA, and blood pressure or heart rate abnormalities
• Required to titrate drips including sedation, vasopressors, and insulin
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; 1 year ICU and 1 year PCU/Med Surg may be considered for candidates from larger facilities with strong skills
• Must be able to read cardiac monitor strips and take 12-lead EKGs
• Respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, BiPAP, and CPAP supported by RT staff
• Remote monitor techs available for PCU and MST patients
• Charting system: Cerner
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• BSN not required
• Scrub color requirement: Any color except camouflage
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to signing contract

This acute care facility operates a unique Acuity Adaptable Multi Care Unit that manages ICU, PCU, and Medical Surgical patients within a single 10-bed unit. The facility provides comprehensive inpatient services including a dedicated charge RN overseeing 50 inpatient beds encompassing MST, Pediatrics, and the Multi Care Unit. The organization maintains a West Campus location and offers robust specialty support services, emphasizing clinical excellence and competency across multiple care settings.
