Opportunity:
RN - Float Pool
Job Details:
• Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holidays included in permanent staff rotation
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Float pool covering MedSurg Tele and PCU across both campuses, including inpatients holding in ED
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
• At least 1 year of experience in a PCU setting required
• Must be comfortable titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
• Common patient population includes geriatric patients, orthopedic patients, post-procedural cardiac patients, post MI, post cardiac cath, and CABG post-op day 3-4
• Must be able to interpret cardiac monitor strips
• RT equipment experience required: CPAP/BiPAP in MedSurg, and BiPAP, CPAP, and Heated High Flow in PCU
• Nurse aides utilized in all settings
• Schedule published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time; travelers must be flexible
• Will be notified 2 hours prior to shift start via text message from staffing office
• Campuses are approximately 20-25 minutes apart
• Dress code: Solid color professional scrubs (transitioning to Navy scrubs per updated guidelines)
• Orientation includes 8-hour general hospital orientation, 12-hour shift at West MedSurg Tele, and 12-hour shift at West PCU
• Charting system: Cerner
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• Must take and pass dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to signing contract
• BSN not required
• Valid state license required for submission
