Opportunity:
RN - Progressive Care Unit
Job Details:
• Work in an 18-bed Progressive Care Unit with patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Self-scheduling available with 3 required weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Care for patients with moderate physiologic instability including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and trach patients
• Monitor and manage hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac and respiratory monitoring every 2-4 hours
• Perform nursing interventions at least every 3-4 hours including vital signs every 4 hours and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Administer oxygen therapy including nasal cannula, BIPAP/CPAP (up to 80%), and AirVo low flow
• Conduct blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours
• Perform neurological monitoring including NIHSS assessments at any frequency
• Utilize equipment including Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pumps, Pyxis, and bedside computers
• Document using Meditech system
• Support from 2 PCTs and 1 Unit Secretary available per shift
• Floating policy applies in order of: travelers first, then PRN staff, then by date last floated
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH
• Required dress code: Royal Blue scrubs

This regional medical center operates a specialized Telemetry and Pulmonary Step Down Unit that provides an intermediate level of care between ICU and Medical/Surgical units. The facility focuses on cardiac and pulmonary patient populations, emphasizing team-based care, patient courtesy and respect, and maintaining high standards of clinical excellence. The unit is equipped with modern technology and documentation systems to support quality patient outcomes.
