Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

• Position may float between units to meet unit needs
• No on-call required
• Every other weekend required
• Block schedules not required
• Expected patient ratio of 1:4
• At least 1 year of experience required
• Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH scale and proficiency in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
• Epic charting system experience required
• Designated stroke unit - Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
• Spine Center of Excellence - JCAHO designation
• NAEC - Level 3 Epilepsy Center
• Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• No parking fee
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it supports a comprehensive range of medical services with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The neuroscience unit specializes in neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patient care with a daily census of 48 patients across 48 rooms and 64 beds.
