Opportunity:

RN - CTICU/CVICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts required
• 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
• Holiday shifts based on unit coverage
• Level I Trauma experience required
• CVICU experience preferred; ICU experience required
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 with a high number of 1:1 assignments
• 24-bed CTICU/CVICU unit
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Must pass Day 1 SIMs Lab including Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion (pass/fail)
• Strong IV skills required - no IV team available
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
• Intensivist on during days and on call at night
• Common diagnoses include cardiac surgery recovery, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, thoracic, ECMO, esophagectomy, lobectomy, pneumectomy, and TAVR
• Experience with IABP and CABG preferred for bedside procedures including bronchs, Swans, and epidurals
• First to float to ICU/MS/Tele or other campuses; Tele ratios are 1:4
• 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
• EMR system: Cerner
• Telemetry system: Phillips
• Scrub color: Navy
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Must have own vehicle
• 50-mile radius rule applies - no local rates
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• CCRN preferred
• BSN not required

This acute care facility is a Level I Trauma Center offering comprehensive cardiovascular and surgical services. The unit specializes in high-acuity cardiac and thoracic surgery recovery, supporting complex procedures and diagnoses including transplant services. The facility maintains robust 24/7 support including pharmacy and respiratory therapy, and utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical records system.
