Opportunity:
RN - Trauma/Surgical ICU
Job Details:
• Work in a Trauma/Surgical ICU unit focusing on traumatic injuries including motor vehicle collisions, penetrating wounds, falls, and similar cases
• Additional patient diagnoses include perforated bowels, necrotizing fasciitis, cancer surgery, and liver transplants
• Patient ratios of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• 12-room unit with 10 beds
• Self-scheduling unit
• Float required to ICU and PCU
• Will be expected to work 3 out of 5 winter holidays
• 36-hour orientation
• Treat patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Trauma/Surgical experience required
• PA Lines experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Required skills: arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, surgical intensive care unit, and ventilator management
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, CCRN
• Compliance requirements include: BLS, ACLS, EKG onboarding exam, NIHSS, Advanced Math exam, Med/Pharmacology exam, General ICU Competency exam, Trauma ICU Competency exam, General ICU skills, Trauma ICU skills, and CORE exams
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Compact or Kentucky state license required

This facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center offering a specialized Trauma/Surgical ICU equipped to handle the most complex and critical patient cases. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team and maintains a low patient-to-nurse ratio to ensure high-quality care. The facility provides comprehensive specialty support services and is affiliated with a larger health system network that includes nearby affiliate hospitals.
