Job Details:

• Night shift position
• Unit consists of 14 beds: 5 triage/inpatient beds, 6 labor beds, and 2 OR beds
• Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
• Chart in two EMR systems: Meditech and GE
• Every 3rd weekend required for day shift; night shift weekends are Friday and Saturday with 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
• Hospital scrubs provided
• In-house hospitalist or intensivist coverage 3 nights per week
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on unit
• Scrub techs used in place of nurse aides
• Floating involves tasks in OB or nursery but no patient assignments
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 2-3 shifts
• Care for C-section patients, high-risk OB patients, and mag patients on L&D unit
• Must have high-risk OB experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Nurses perform their own exams and full assessments; IUPC insertion is not required
• Must be a strong nurse comfortable with high acuity patients
• Customer service-oriented environment
• BSN required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Prefer RN-C certification
• Parking minimum cost of $1.25 per hour

This acute care facility operates a dedicated Labor and Delivery unit with comprehensive support services including 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy coverage. The unit handles a diverse range of OB patients including high-risk cases, C-sections, and antepartum patients, supported by charge nurses and unit leaders. The facility maintains a strong focus on patient experience and customer service while providing nurses with the resources needed to deliver high-quality care.
