Job Details:

• Work in a 30-bed unit with 22 acute care beds and 8 neuro stepdown beds
• Patient ratios: 6:1 on acute care side, 4:1 on neuro stepdown
• Weekend shifts required
• Experienced nurses can float after orientation
• Required certifications: BLS for acute care, BLS and ACLS for neuro stepdown
• Work with equipment including vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, various drips, Vapotherm, BiPAP, trachs, and cardiac drips
• Handle stroke patients and neurological conditions
• Perform procedures including lumbar punctures and chest tube placements
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Participate in bedside shift report, personal patient connections, and daily huddles
• Strong critical thinking skills and time management required
• Stepdown experience preferred for neuro stepdown assignments
• Dress code: black, any shade of blue, grey scrubs, or any color scrubs on Fridays
• Unit staffing includes 1 RN charge nurse, 1-2 techs, and unit secretary
• Excellent stepping stone unit for nurses wanting to advance to ICU
