Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg Oncology

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
• Weekend and holiday requirements apply
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 4-5:1 on days, 4-6:1 on nights
• 32-bed MedSurg Oncology unit
• 2 years of nursing experience required with medical-surgical experience required
• Chemo experience only required if noted in interview queue submission
• Competence with chest tubes, central lines, and heparin drips required
• Common procedures include general assessments, IV starts, portacath access, and medication administration
• RT equipment includes CPAP and high flow
• CNAs available at a 1:8 ratio
• Charge nurse on unit who will rarely take patients
• Standby requirement for low census
• Floating to Heart Center, General Medicine, Post-Surgical, and Ortho-Neuro units may be required
• No self-scheduling or block scheduling available
• Charting system: EPIC
• Two 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation required
• Required certifications: BLS required; ONS, CHPN, and OCN preferred
• BSN not required
• Scrubs required in any color; no tattoos visible above shoulders, only nose studs permitted as facial piercings, and natural hair color only

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a wide range of medical services including a dedicated MedSurg Oncology unit. The facility utilizes EPIC as its charting system and provides structured support through charge nurses and certified nursing assistants to ensure quality patient care.
