Opportunity:

RN - Float Pool

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required with holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call or standby requirement
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling attempted but not guaranteed
• Float pool assignment covers multiple facilities including Boise, Meridian, and Nampa locations (all approximately 20 minutes apart and accessible via interstate)
• Unit assignment provided via app 1 hour before shift start indicating hospital and unit placement
• Travelers are first to float and may be floated mid-shift to different units and facilities as needed
• Float pool includes MedSurg units (7 total across all facilities), ED holds, and 1:1 sitter assignments
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: ED holds 1:4; MedSurg 1:5
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available on units at ratios of 1:8-10 depending on floor and day
• Charge nurse present on all units with 7 assistant managers rotating on-call 24/7
• Must independently read and interpret telemetry strips
• Required to titrate drips including cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, heparin, and insulin
• Common diagnoses include post-op, ortho, neuro, oncology, CVA/TIA, chest pain, abdominal pain, and CHF
• Experience with cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro required; ED holds experience preferred
• Charting system: EPIC
• No specific scrub color required; clean and professional appearance expected
• 3 shifts of inpatient orientation provided following a meet and greet on day one
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in specialty and previous travel experience
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA or ARC), BLS (AHA or ARC)
• BSN not required; willing to wait for license

This healthcare organization operates multiple acute care facilities across the region, including Level 2 and Level 4 trauma centers with stroke and STEMI receiving capabilities. The facilities feature robust emergency departments, telemetry units, and a wide range of medical-surgical specialties.
