Opportunity:
RN - ICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Four weekend shifts required per schedule period with rotating holidays
• Every-other-weekend requirement; nights are Friday/Saturday
• Acute care setting in a 20-bed ICU (MICU/SICU/Neuro) with an average daily census of 16-17 patients
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2 for ICU and 1:3 for Stepdown; unit supports Stepdown needs for the facility
• Administer all typical drips including moderate conscious sedation using ICU Medical IV Pumps
• Work with Phillips Cardiac Monitors with no monitor techs; data flows directly into EPIC
• Ventilators (Servo & Hamilton) managed 100% by Respiratory Therapy; RN may silence alarm once RT is notified
• Pulmonary Critical Care Intensivist in-house during the day; hospitalist coverage at night
• Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available in-house 24/7; Omnicell system used for medications
• Common diagnoses include post cath lab patients, balloon pumps, ventrics, and thoracic cases; CRRT using NxStage available
• No IV team on-site
• Scrub color is navy blue; navy or white jacket permitted; undershirt must be white or navy; hair must be natural color; distasteful tattoos must be covered
• Charting system: EPIC; scheduling entered via Kronos
• 1-2 shifts of orientation with a preceptor following general hospital orientation
• Travelers typically do not float outside of the ICU
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, TNCC
• BSN not required

The facility features 24/7 support from Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, and a designated Charge Nurse, along with a Pulmonary Critical Care Intensivist available during daytime hours.
