Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work in a 30-bed med surg unit specializing in post-op and spine care patients
• Day shift nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 and night shift ratio of 1:6
• Every third weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Winter holidays unless unit is closed
• Float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran
• Administer heparin drips as part of patient care
• Scrubs required: Navy Blue, solids only
• Billable overtime applies between 36-40 hours per week
• 24 months of med surg/medical surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
• Strong heparin experience required
• Post-op/surgical experience required
• Spine care experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 3 months of current travel experience within the previous 12 months required (no first-time travelers)
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within 24 months preferred
• Driver's license required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg nursing required
