Opportunity:
RN - ED Holding/Observation
Job Details:
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three shifts per week (3x12)
• Block scheduling potential available but not guaranteed
• 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week period (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays), along with 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays
• Only one holiday may be requested as time off
• Travel partners are not permitted
• 1.5 years of experience required; experience with pre-cardiac cath and managing ports required
• Travel experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Active compact nursing license required at time of submission
• EPIC charting experience required
• Patient ratio experience: 5 to 6 patients
• Support ED boarders across the system - patients waiting for a bed in the ED and requiring inpatient care
• Float to observation units at Edgewood and Florence campuses as needed, as well as Medical/Surgical and Medical/Surgical Telemetry units
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chest tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PICC line management, pre/post cardiac cath, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment includes lift equipment, iPad for communication, and pacemaker interrogation
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Scrubs must be navy blue with no agency or brand logos
• No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted
• Natural fingernails required for direct patient care; nails must be less than 1/4 inch in length; polish is acceptable
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
