1Y/1ST TIMERS - Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Float between units to meet unit needs
• At least 1 year of experience required
• Neurology RN experience required; must be comfortable with the NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and other neurology diagnoses
• Epic charting system experience required
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• No parking fee
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 staffed beds. The facility operates as a teaching hospital and houses a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, a Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation, and a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center. The neuroscience unit specializes in neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patient care with a daily census of 48 patients and 64 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes interpretation services.
