Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

• Night shift position on a neurology/neurosurgical/telemetry unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Block schedules not required
• 48-hour shifts approved
• Float between units required to meet unit needs
• Must have at least 6 months of neuro experience
• At least 1 year of overall nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• No parking fee
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
• Must be proficient with NIH scale and caring for various neurology diagnoses
• May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center, also designated as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, with 629 total staffed beds. The neurology unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, a Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation, and a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center. The facility operates as a teaching hospital and offers interdisciplinary support including interpretation services, with a daily census of 48 patients across 64 beds.
