Opportunity:

RN - Medical Surgical

Job Details:

• Provide professional nursing care to acutely ill, convalescing, and chronically ill patients as directed by the medical staff
• Assess patients and perform patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient age and diagnosis
• Communicate with providers, charge nurse, and care team members regarding changes in patient clinical condition including diagnostic results and symptomology
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment
• Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision
• Follow the Five Medication Rights to help reduce the potential for medication errors
• Formulate patient teaching plans based upon identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning, including family or caretaker as appropriate
• Interact with patients, families, co-workers, and providers with respect, dignity, and empathy
• Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families or caretakers
• Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to provide age-appropriate care
• Document patient care according to standards and policies
• Supervise licensed practical nurses (LPNs), nursing aides (CNAs), and nursing students
• Participate in and support orientation of personnel and available in-services
