Opportunity:
PICU RN
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Self-scheduling available - shifts can be worked consecutively or split up
• Variable weekend shifts required
• No on-call required
• No block scheduling required
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float between Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU units may be required
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Navy scrubs required for RNs
• Free parking available
• Patients served include neonates, adolescents, infants, and pediatrics
• Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, central line/implanted line care, continuous sedation, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV vasopressors, management of dysrhythmias, pediatric step down, PICU, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
Facility:
This facility is a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 181 total staffed beds and an 18-bed PICU unit. The facility maintains a daily PICU census of approximately 15 patients and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support.
