Opportunity:

PICU RN

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week with self-scheduling (shifts can be worked consecutively or split)
• Variable weekend shifts required
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling required
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float between Pediatric Med/Surg and NICU units as needed
• Care for patients across age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatrics
• Unit consists of 18 beds with a daily census of 15
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Interpretation Services
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• Must be proficient in skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, central line/implanted line care, continuous sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV vasopressors, PICC line management, suctioning (ETT, NT), and ventilator management
• Navy scrubs required for RNs
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

The facility provides specialized pediatric care across multiple units including PICU, Pediatric Med/Surg, and NICU.
