Opportunity:
RN - PCU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every third holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with nurse aide/patient care tech support at 1:10 or 2:20
• 35-bed Progressive Care Unit serving adult and geriatric patients
• Common diagnoses include cardiac, nephrology, strokes, diabetes management, and continuous EEG monitoring
• Required to titrate drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
• Charge nurse present on each shift
• Floating requirements to medical floors, ICU, or rehab may be required
• First week consists of onboarding followed by 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation on the floor
• Fast-paced environment requiring positive attitude, strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
• Pass/fail open book exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Candidate must reside within 50-mile radius of facility

This acute care facility operates a 35-bed Progressive Care Unit providing specialized care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs. The unit is equipped to handle a wide range of diagnoses including cardiac conditions, nephrology, stroke care, and continuous EEG monitoring. The facility maintains a fast-paced environment supported by a dedicated team of charge nurses and patient care technicians, with access to multiple departments including medical floors, ICU, and rehabilitation services.
