Opportunity:

WNTR BLOCK 1ST TIMERS - LEVEL III NICU RN

Job Details:

• Block schedules required
• Weekends required - 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period, variable with self-scheduling
• 48-hour shifts approved
• Self-scheduling model
• No on-call required
• Expected patient ratios of 1:2-4
• Float required to PRN Pediatrics, PICU, and Pediatric ED
• May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required; Level III experience preferred as this is a Level IV unit
• Open to contracts longer than 13 weeks
• Charting system experience required - Epic
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Scrub color: Navy for all RNs
• Parking is free in any unrestricted space; bike racks available
• Care for neonatal patients with diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, surgical subspecialties (except cardiac), and HIE
• Unit capacity of 43 beds with a daily census of 35
• Required advanced skills include: administration of blood and blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics/antivirals, APGAR scoring, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line blood draw, central line and implanted line care, developmental care, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), high flow nasal cannula, high frequency ventilation, hyperbilirubinemia, ICP monitoring, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, neonatal abstinence syndrome, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis, nitric oxide, oscillators, oxygen delivery systems, phototherapy, therapeutic hypothermia, thermoregulation, tracheostomy care, UAC, UVC, ventilator management, and more
• Interpretation services available on unit
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, completed during compliance process and prior to start

Facility:

This is a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 181 total staff beds. The facility operates a robust Level IV NICU with 43 beds and a daily census of 35, treating a wide range of complex neonatal conditions including surgical subspecialties. The unit offers interdisciplinary support including interpretation services and is equipped to handle high-acuity neonatal cases across all gestational age groups.
