Opportunity:

RN - ED Boarders/Observation

Job Details:

• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, three days per week (3x12)
• Block scheduling potential but not guaranteed
• 4 weekend shifts per 6-week period (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays), along with 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays
• Only one holiday RTO request permitted
• Travel experience required
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
• Experience with pre-cardiac cath and managing ports required
• Patient ratio experience of 5-6 patients
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Active compact license required at time of submission
• EPIC charting experience required
• Support ED boarders across the system — patients waiting for a bed in the ED requiring inpatient care
• Float to observation units at Edgewood and Florence campuses as needed, as well as MS/MS Tele units
• Serves adults patients across admissions, observation, and ED boarding areas
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, CVA care, ER holding, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, neuro stepdown, non-invasive airway management, PCA, peripheral and PICC line management, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment includes lift equipment, iPad for communication, and pacemaker interrogation devices
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos permitted
• No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted
• Natural fingernails required for direct patient care; nails must be less than 1/4" in length; polish is acceptable
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• No cafeteria on-site; refrigerator and microwave provided
