Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg and Telemetry

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• 1-2 winter holidays required
• Up to 4 standby/call shifts during contract duration
• Primary assignment at one facility with required floating throughout Region Two locations in Lakewood, WA; Enumclaw, WA; and Tacoma, WA with rate differential when floated outside of primary location
• Float coverage required across entire Med/Surg and Telemetry division including multiple specialized units
• Med/Surg units include surgical, long-term low acuity, general medical, cardiac, neuro, and ortho/spine specialties
• May also be assigned to Med/Surg Oncology and ER Transition Unit as needed
• RN to patient ratio of 4-5 patients per nurse
• CNA support available with ratio of 8-11 patients per aide
• Required to titrate drips including insulin, heparin, nitro, dobutamine, dopamine, and cardizem per med/surg guidelines
• Telemetry monitored remotely by telemetry techs with RN verification required
• Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and trachs (no vents)
• Charting system: EPIC
• Breaks must be taken when offered and cannot be refused
• Orientation includes 4 hours each on primary med/surg units
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• At least 2 years of acute care experience required
• BLS certification required
• No specific scrub color required
• BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care facility features a large Med/Surg and Telemetry division spanning six specialized units across multiple floors, offering care for a wide range of patient populations including surgical, neurological, cardiac, oncology, and orthopedic cases. The facility provides comprehensive support services including charge nurses on each unit and house supervisors available from 11:00 AM through 7:00 AM. The organization maintains high standards of patient care with telemetry monitoring supported by dedicated telemetry technicians and a structured float system across its regional network of hospitals.
