Opportunity:

M/S RN - 12hr Days

Job Details:

• 12-hour day shifts from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Block scheduling is not available
• Float to like units as needed within the Critical Access Hospital
• On-call only if agreeable due to low census; call back occurs only in emergency situations with a 30-minute response time
• Nurse to patient ratio up to 1:5, with typical ratio of 1:3-4
• Average daily census of 8-10 patients, majority skilled care level, acute and observation patients, and same day surgicals
• Must be able to work independently in Med/Surg and in a charge nurse capacity as back-up
• Previous charge nurse experience strongly preferred
• Must have experience caring for patients younger than 18 years of age
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in specialty area required
• Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital is required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Required certifications: Iowa RN license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Scrub color: Staff choice for Med/Surg

This critical access hospital is a Level IV rural facility offering essential inpatient and outpatient healthcare services to the surrounding community. The facility operates a 25-bed unit including 20 Med/Surg beds, 4 LDRP beds, and 1 post-partum/c-section prep room, providing 24/7 emergency care and a range of acute, skilled, and observation level services.
