RN - Med Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Holiday requirements of 2 out of 3 holidays
• Opportunity and potential to be placed on call or standby
• Must be able to float to like units and patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 5:1 for day shift and 6:1 at 11:00 PM; team nursing with LPNs at 2:7 ratios
• 24-bed inpatient unit with capacity for up to 10 observation and day surgery patients
• Common diagnoses include NHP, cellulitis, UTI, COPD, GU, pacemaker, sepsis, nursing home placements, and day surgical cases including orthopedic hips and knees, cholecystectomies, appendectomies, and TURPS-CBI
• Must be comfortable with IV starts as there is no IV team on site
• Basic telemetry arrhythmia knowledge required with physical monitor available at nurses' desk
• Charge nurse takes a patient assignment; travelers may be placed as relief charge
• Nurse aids available on unit
• Hospitalist on site until 6:00 PM daily with telemed coverage after hours
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 with CPAP equipment on unit
• Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical or medical-surgical telemetry experience required
• Preferred experience with TURPS-CBI and Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4 settings
• Drip titration is not required
• Dress code: Solid professional scrubs, no specific color requirement
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA); ACLS preferred
• BSN not required
• Charting system: Computerized system
