Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2239.72
Opportunity:
RN - Med/Surg
Job Details:
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required with night shift covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Holidays rotate with regular staff
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Floating to other units required to assist as a tasker or extra set of hands
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of no more than 5 patients per nurse
• Unit has 3 nurse aides per shift
• Epic EMR experience required along with travel experience
• Strong med/surg background required due to variety of patients
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic cases, detox, post-op surgical patients, and pediatric patients
• No titration of drips required
• Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP, BiPap, and high flow oxygen with RT available to assist and manage all hours
• Telemetry monitored by ICU with results faxed to med/surg for nurse documentation
• House supervisor manages assignments for nurses and aides with no charge nurse on unit
• Extra shifts may be available and manager is open to working with block scheduling preferences
• Scrub color is open to any color except camouflage or orange
• 3 to 5 days of unit orientation included with training in MedTech, pharmacy, and lab
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS for all RNs and LPNs
• ACLS and PALS recommended but not required
• BSN not required
• Valid driver's license copy required with submission
Facility:
This acute care facility operates a 32-bed med/surg unit currently functioning at 20 beds. The unit is staffed by a mix of RNs and LPNs and is equipped to handle a wide variety of patient conditions and diagnoses. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and maintains ICU monitoring support for telemetry patients, with a robust orientation program and education department to support new staff.
