Opportunity:

RN - 4N PCU/MS

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Nurse aides available on unit with ratios of 1:8 on days and 1:14 on nights
• Charge nurse takes a smaller assignment; agency staff not required to work in charge role
• Care for patients with abdominal surgeries, ear/nose/throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical conditions
• Required skills include IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and electronic health record proficiency
• Intermediate care background strongly preferred
• Titrate drips including Heparin and infrequently insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin
• Telemetry monitoring supported by monitor techs; RNs are not required to read their own telemetry strips
• Equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and occasional tracheostomy care; no ventilators
• Float on rotation to other med/surg units when unit is overstaffed
• Block scheduling not guaranteed but made every effort, especially for night shifts
• Orientation includes 12 hours of computer training and 12 hours of shadowing
• Charting system: Cerner
• BSN not required
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA); ACLS preferred
• Must clock in and out at the facility

Facility:

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering comprehensive medical and surgical services across multiple units. The 29-bed Progressive Care Unit supports a wide range of patient populations including post-surgical and complex medical cases. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic health record system and provides telemetry monitoring support through dedicated monitor technicians to ensure high-quality patient care.
