Opportunity:

RN - NTICU (NeuroTrauma ICU)

Job Details:

• Night shift position in a 24-bed NeuroTrauma ICU
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Self-scheduling available with a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule required
• Holiday requirements apply
• Float requirements determined by nurse manager; may float within Zone 3 in cases of extreme need
• First to float policy applies
• Titrate drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic, and specialized drips
• Care for patients with stroke, neuro, trauma, orthopedic, surgical, and medical diagnoses
• Read and interpret own telemetry strips using Philips monitors
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and ventilators
• Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment; intensivist and RT are in-house 24/7
• 1 year of trauma/surgical and neuro critical care experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and teamwork required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• CRRT and TCAR certifications preferred
• Charting system: EPIC
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Must be available in-state for the week of orientation
• Must reside within 60 miles of facility; valid driver's license required
• Level 1 trauma and comprehensive stroke center requiring 8 hours of trauma and stroke education yearly

This acute care facility is a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, equipped to handle the most complex neurological and trauma cases. The facility features a 24-bed NeuroTrauma ICU with around-the-clock intensivist and respiratory therapy support, and utilizes EPIC for electronic health record charting. The organization is committed to ongoing staff education, requiring annual trauma and stroke training to maintain the highest standards of patient care.
