Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg (Stepdown & Floor)

Job Details:

• Night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM available
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as scheduled
• Acute care setting on a 34-bed MedSurg Stepdown and Floor unit
• Stepdown nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 and floor nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• RNs required to titrate drips
• Must be proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips (tele techs post strips each shift)
• Ventilators present on unit with respiratory therapy available in-house 24/7
• Charge nurse and transport RN available at optimal staffing from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM only
• Nurse aides on unit with typically 2-5 clinical assistants available
• May be required to float to other units
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Required certification: BLS
• BSN not required
• Valid nursing license required (willing to wait for submission)

This acute care facility operates a dedicated MedSurg Stepdown and Floor unit with 34 beds, providing comprehensive care for a range of medical-surgical patients. The facility supports staff with in-house respiratory therapy available 24/7, telemetry technicians on every shift, and clinical assistants to ensure quality patient care. The organization maintains structured staffing protocols and utilizes the EPIC charting system to support efficient and effective clinical operations.
