Opportunity:

RN - Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend night positions require Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday availability
• Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation
• Cancellation policy allows up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for floor patients with nurse aides available at a ratio of 1:7-10 (3 aides per shift)
• Charge nurse support available 24/7
• Work with common diagnoses including Neurosciences, Deep Brain Stimulators, Stroke, Seizures, Surgical/Post-Op Spines, and Neurological Disorders
• Strong overall Neuro experience required
• Proficiency with G-tubes required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required
• Telemetry is present on the unit - RNs are not required to read strips but must document verification of monitor tech strip readings in EPIC
• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for floor vent management - RNs are not required to have vent experience
• May be required to float to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E as first priority, with potential to float elsewhere in the hospital if needed
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of white and royal blue
• One orientation shift on the unit
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS (must be in hand at time of submission); ACLS preferred
• Any background hits must be disclosed at time of submission

The unit is supported by a dedicated charge nurse around the clock, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and a collaborative care team that includes nurse aides.
