Opportunity:

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Rotating nights and days schedule
• Weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
• No local candidates accepted - must be more than 50 miles from facility
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Active PA or Compact license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA certifications only accepted)
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Work with cardiothoracic, telemetry, and surgical thoracic patients including those with drains and chest tubes
• Manage telemetry monitoring including on-unit and remote monitoring
• Administer and manage occasional cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin
• Stroke Certified staff unit
• Skills required include cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, blood product administration, PICC line management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post hemodialysis management, wound care, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Two supervisor references preferred

Facility:

This healthcare facility is a well-equipped medical center offering a wide range of interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The telemetry unit consists of 10 beds and maintains a daily census of 10 patients, providing specialized care for cardiothoracic, telemetry, and stroke patients with access to advanced monitoring and specialized equipment including chest tubes.
