Description
Requirements:
- Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- 1+ years of general OR experience required
- Ability to function in circulating and/or scrub roles across a variety of surgical specialties
Duties:
- Provide circulating and/or scrub nursing support during a variety of general surgical procedures (general surgery, orthopedic, GYN, urology, ENT, etc.)
- Prepare and maintain sterile field, instruments, and equipment for surgical cases
- Perform pre-operative assessments and verify surgical site, consent, and procedure per protocol
- Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts before, during, and after procedures
- Monitor patient status and safety throughout surgical procedures
- Manage supplies, equipment, and instrumentation, ensuring availability and proper function
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team to ensure smooth case flow
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and post-op handoff to PACU staff
- Accurately document intraoperative care, including counts, medications, and patient status, in the EMR
