Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required, with Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CI) certification required/preferred per facility
• State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of IR experience required
• Ability to respond to emergent/on-call cases (IR roles often require call coverage)

Duties:

• Assist physicians during minimally invasive image-guided procedures (angiograms, embolizations, biopsies, drain placements, stent placements)
• Operate fluoroscopy, angiography, and imaging equipment during procedures
• Prepare and set up sterile fields, instruments, and supplies for IR procedures
• Administer contrast media per physician orders, monitoring patients for adverse reactions
• Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout procedures, alerting the team to changes
• Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles are followed for patients and staff
• Accurately document procedures, supplies used, and patient data in the medical record
• Assist with post-procedure patient care, including site management and monitoring (per scope/facility policy)
• Collaborate with interventional radiologists and care team on procedural planning and follow-up
