Description
Requirements:
- Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required
- 1+ years of cardiac telemetry experience required
- Experience monitoring cardiac rhythms and managing cardiac medications
Duties:
- Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions and arrhythmias
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and identify arrhythmias, escalating care as needed
- Administer medications, including cardiac drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in cardiac status promptly
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
- Respond to rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Educate patients and families on cardiac condition, treatment plan, and lifestyle modifications
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient response in the EMR
- Manage a typical patient load per facility acuity and staffing guidelines
- Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed
