Description
Requirements:
- Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- CCRN certification preferred
- 1+ years of ICU/critical care experience required
- Experience with critical care equipment (ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, titratable drips)
Duties:
- Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and support
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as needed
- Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips, per physician orders
- Manage and monitor advanced life support equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, hemodynamic monitors)
- Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
- Perform rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Educate patients and families on condition, treatment plan, and care needs
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient response in the EMR
- Maintain 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios per acuity and facility staffing guidelines
- Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed for high-acuity patients
