Description
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- ARDMS certification required (specialty-specific: Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, Echo, etc.) or CCI equivalent
- State licensure as applicable
- BLS certification required
- 1+ years of ultrasound experience required
- Proficiency with ultrasound equipment and PACS systems
Duties:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams per physician orders across relevant specialty areas (abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, cardiac, etc.)
- Position patients and operate ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic quality images
- Analyze images in real time to ensure completeness and accuracy, adjusting technique as needed
- Recognize and document sonographic findings, flagging critical results to physicians promptly
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment, troubleshooting technical issues as needed
- Educate patients on exam procedures and address concerns with sensitivity
- Accurately document exams and maintain patient records in RIS/PACS systems
- Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians on findings and follow-up imaging needs
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, including proper equipment cleaning between patients
