Requirements:

• Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• BLS certification required
• CWCN or WOCN (Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse) certification preferred
• 1+ years of wound care experience required
• Experience with wound assessment, debridement, and advanced wound care modalities

Duties:

• Assess, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic wounds, including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and diabetic ulcers
• Perform wound care procedures, including dressing changes, debridement, and application of advanced wound therapies (NPWT, etc.)
• Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans based on wound type and patient condition
• Educate patients and families on wound care, prevention strategies, and home care instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
• Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Provide ostomy care and education as applicable
• Accurately document wound assessments, treatments, and healing progress in the EMR
• Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed during wound care procedures
• Educate nursing staff facility-wide on wound prevention and best practices (as applicableable)
