Description
**Job Description:**
- **Shift:** Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
- **Flexible Schedule:** 3x12 night shifts, every other weekend, holidays as needed.
- **Floating Requirements:** You will have the opportunity to float between all facilities as required.
- **Experience Needed:** Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required. First-time travelers are welcome!
- **Certifications:**
- BLS & NIHSS certifications are required.
- **EMR System:** Must have experience with EPIC.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Telemetry Experience:**
- Remote monitoring experience required.
- On-unit telemetry monitoring preferred.
- **Patient Care:**
- Provide care for inpatient populations with a variety of co-morbidities.
- Specialized care for stroke (neuro) patient populations.
- **Essential Skills:**
- Access and manage ports.
- Administer blood products.
- Care and management of central lines, peripheral lines, and PICC lines.
- Start and maintain IVs.
- Manage feeding tubes.
- Interpret dysrhythmias and perform EKG testing.
- Implement isolation precautions and have wound care experience.
- **Patient Ratios:** Experience in managing patient ratios of 1:5 - 1:6.
**Unit Details:**
- **Multidisciplinary Support:** Collaborate with IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.
- **Daily Census:** Receive an average of 29 patients daily.
**Staffing & Scheduling:**
- **Night Patient Ratios:** Maintain effective management with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-1:6.
- **Orientation:** 24 hours of orientation to ensure you're well-prepared.
**Requirements:**
- **Education:** Active nursing license must be in hand at the time of submission.
- **Background Check:** No open cases permitted.
- **Local Policy:** No local candidates within a 50-mile radius.
